Home to the 2003, 04, 05 and 06 Skins Games, this 18 hole Championship Coachella Valley Golf Course has been played by golf’s best. To name just a few, Phil Mickelson, Annika Sorenstamm, Tiger Woods, Adam Scott, Mark O’Meara and Fred Couples have all tried their skills on this “must play in the desert” popular course. Offering six different tee boxes to challenge all skill levels, the Golf Club at La Quinta knows how to be friendly and welcoming.

Designed by the legendary Gary Panks in 2002 the course is just under 6,900 yards from the championship tees. The Skins tees play at nearly 7,200 yards providing a perfect length for anyone’s golf game. Sand perils complement the fairways along with beautiful water features leading to rolling greens, for the bucolic environment that golfers love.

The beautiful and natural California desert landscape enhances every golf course in the Valley but particularly this one. 18 holes of beauty and challenge offer a majestic view of the Santa Rosa Mountains from every single one of them. The course is 72 par with the 72.7 rating and a 127 slope. General Manager Tom Tryhane does a masterful job running a course that caters to locals and visitors alike every month of the year.

Amenities include a spacious practice facility, a practice putting green and practice pitching green, power golf cars, golf club rentals and shoe rentals and the Azul Restaurant. The clubhouse offers a great place to rest and relax. Special summer rates make it a popular choice for out-of-town visitors on a budget who want to play on a course that has been tried by the best in the sport.

Designer, and landscape architect Gary Panks is known for having created some of the most beautiful courses in the world including Australia, Canada, Mexico, Thailand, and several states as well with an emphasis on Arizona. Some of his most beautiful designs include Sedona, Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Paradise Valley to name only a few. His passion for golf combined with his skill as a landscape architect are a formula that is hard to duplicate. In 2009 he was inducted into the Arizona Hall of Fame among many other accolades for his contributions to the game of golf.

His appreciation of the unique desert landscapes of the American Southwest are evident in the majestic golf courses he lovingly designs around natural elements, incorporating them into his productions like works of art. The Golf Club at La Quinta is one of his most popular and frequently played courses, truly a must play course in the Coachella Valley.
